Here is a reason for getting involved.
“Involved? Involved in what?”
Involved in helping other believers, of course.
“Oh. What is it?”
Paul says that if another is caught in some sin and isn’t extricating himself from it, we who have the Spirit should restore him in a spirit of meekness (Galatians 6:1).

You can hmmmm all you want, but there is some brother or sister out there who needs your help.
“Explain it a bit, please.”
Your task is to “restore” him. The word means to rework something so that it once again functions as it was intended to. It was used of mending torn nets, and mending broken bones.
“That’s counseling, isn’t it?”
Sure is—and the verse puts you squarely into the midst of it. Note, it says that Christians ought to be counseled by people who have the Spirit. That means you can’t send your tangled up brother down the street to a pagan counselor or psychologist.
“Hmmmmmmmmmmm”
You’re pretty good at hmmm-ing aren’t you?
“Hmmmmmmmmm.”
OK. So you won’t talk. I’ll do so then. When you approach your sinning brother, do so in the spirit of meekness. That means be kind and helpful without saying such things as “I told you so!”
“What else?”
Too much for a blog. If you need help in knowing how to counsel—get in touch with Donn. He’ll tell you how INS can help.
