There aren’t many who can.

Can use the Scriptures when they need to.
“You mean when there’s a question or a problem that he needs God’s input to solve?”
Exactly.
“Why do you think that is?”
Because people have not been taught how to locate the helpful passages that they need at the moment.
“I can see that. But what can be done to help?”
Teach people the best way to learn what is where.
“How do you do that—memorize a bunch of verses? I’m not so hot at doing that.”
Well, beyond a basic list of John 3:16 types of verses, it begins to get too much—right?
“Exactly”
Well, don’t then.
“What do I do instead?”
Memorize what’s in various chapters of various books.
Try it. All you have to do then, is look up the chapter, and bingo! There it is.
Go through John or Romans, for instance.
- The Gentiles are abandoned for their idolatry, Chapter 1
- The Jews are also lost as well, Chapter 2
- They both are lost, Chapter 3 and
- Must both be justified by Faith, Chapter4
Etc. etc. etc.
